Day
1
(Saturday)
–
Fly
to
Tegucigalpa,
Honduras
via
Miami.
On
arrival
at
Tegucigalpa
Airport,
the
team
is
met
by
staff
members
from
Rancho
El
Paraiso
who
shepherd
the
team
through
baggage
claim
and
customs.
Team
members
and
luggage
are
loaded
into
Ranch
vehicles
and
set
off
for
Juticalpa,
the
capital
of
the
Department
of
Olancho
and
the
location
of
the
Honduras
HOI
office.
The
team
spends
the
night
in
Juticalpa.
Day
2
(Sunday)
–
After
a
hearty
Honduran
breakfast,
the
team
completes
the
journey
to
the
Ranch
located
in
the
Agalta
valley,
arriving
mid-day.
The
team
settles
into
their
rooms,
has
lunch,
a
tour
of
the
ranch,
and
an
afternoon
of
rest.
Day
3
-
6
(Monday-
Thursday)
–
After
breakfast,
the
team
and
their
Ranch
liaison
head
out
to
pick
up
supplies
and
travel
to
the
village.
The
group
is
broken
up
into
work
teams
and
paired
with
villagers
to
work
on
specific
projects,
with
a
break
at
noon
for
a
hot
meal.
Work
continues
until
mid-afternoon,
when
transportation
shows
up
to
take
the
team
back
to
the
ranch.
There
is
time
to
shower
and
rest
before
dinner.
There
are
various
evening
activities
scheduled,
including
a
local
high
school
dance
troupe
and
a
farewell
party
on
Thursday
night.
On
the
last
day
in
the
village,
there
is
also
a
farewell
party
hosted
by
the
Ranch
and
the
team.
Day
7
(Friday)
–
The
team
packs
up
and
heads
back
to
Tegucigalpa
for
a
luxurious
last
night,
arriving
in
time
for
a
hot
shower,
some
shopping
and
a
farewell
dinner
in
town.
Day
8
(Saturday)
–
After
breakfast
in
the
hotel,
the
team
leaves
for
the
airport
in
plenty
of
time
to
check
in
and
do
a
little
more
shopping
(hint:
a
great
place
to
buy
some
Honduran
coffee)
before
boarding
the
plane
back
to
DC.
